In this phase, half of the subjects received an omission training (i. e., delivery of food for withholding responding), while the other half received an extinction procedure. Finally, a within-subject ABC renewal test was conducted. The results demonstrated that all rats showed higher levels of responding when they were tested outside extinction context, regardless the procedure used during the elimination phase. Se realizó un experimento con ratas para evaluar la renovación de una respuesta operante previamente eliminada a través del uso de un tratamiento de omisión o del empleo de la extinción. Las ratas se entrenaron para presionar una palanca horizontal por alimento en el contexto A. Después, se eliminó dicha respuesta en un segundo contexto. En esta fase, la mitad de los sujetos fueron expuestos a un procedimiento en el que recibían alimento siempre que dejaran de presionar la palanca (i. e., reforzamiento por omisión), mientras que el resto de las ratas recibieron un tratamiento de extinción. Finalmente, se condujo una prueba intra sujeto de renovación ABC. Los resultados mostraron que las ratas presionaron más la palanca cuando se colocaron en un contexto distinto al empleado en la fase de eliminación, sin importar el tipo de procedimiento que se utilizó para eliminar dicha conducta.
