The development of new and specific English language skills and technological tools has become a necessity. In the study of English for specific and academic purposes, knowledge of tools for translation and pronunciation is especially valuable. Thus, in research papers, presentations to scientific events and publications it is usual to request a summary in English.Besides, learning pronunciation in a foreign language should be taken into account because of the relationship between the development of productive and receptive phonology in a second language and reading comprehension. The purpose of this study was to attain an efficient management of online translators and text-to-speech applications in order to achieve an intelligible pronunciation and write short excerpts in English so as to be able to read them aloud. In general, students evaluated the activity as educational, innovative, interesting and useful. El desarrollo de habilidades nuevas y específicas en lengua inglesa y de herramientas tecnológicas se ha convertido en una necesidad insoslayable. En el estudio de Inglés con fines específicos y con fines académicos, cobra especial valor el conocimiento de herramientas para la traducción y la pronunciación. Es así que en trabajos de investigación, presentaciones a eventos científicos y publicaciones es habitual solicitar un resumen en inglés. Por otra parte, el aprendizaje de la pronunciación en lengua extranjera debe ser contemplado por la relación que existe entre el desarrollo de la fonología productiva y receptiva en una segunda lengua y la comprensión lectora. Se propuso lograr un manejo eficiente de traductores en línea; conocer el uso de simuladores de voz para lograr una pronunciación inteligible; redactar fragmentos breves en inglés y preparar su lectura en voz alta. La valoración general de los estudiantes fue que había resultado didáctica, innovadora, interesante y útil.
