En la Fundación Archivo Gráfico y Museo Histórico de la Ciudad de San Francisco y la Región, los fondos documentales se integran a una propuesta cultural y educativa más amplia, que relaciona múltiples disciplinas, con la finalidad de preservar la identidad cultural y el patrimonio histórico local y regional. Este trabajo describe los orígenes de la institución y su organización, las condiciones de conservación y las posibilidades de acceso e investigación de sus fondos documentales, museográficos y bibliográficos. Asimismo, destaca la labor de los integrantes de la fundación, quienes en las actividades de divulgación trabajan incansablemente por comunicar el valor del acervo documental y museológico de San Francisco y la región, como ejercicio de memoria y construcción de ciudadanía.AbstactIn the Fundación Archivo Gráfico y Museo Histórico de la Ciudad de San Francisco y la Región, the document collections to a broader cultural and educational approach, linking multiple disciplines, with the aim of preserving cultural identity and local heritage are integrated and regional. This article describes the origins of the institution and its organization, the storage conditions and the accessibility and research of his documentaries, museological and bibliographic. It also highlights the work of the members of the foundation, who in outreach work tirelessly to communicate the value of the documentary and museum collection of San Francisco and the region as a memory exercise and building citizenship.Key Words: Historical Archive, Historical Museum, San Francisco, Local Memory.
