Sumario:As part of a University Volunteering Project developed inSanta Ana(Misiones-Argentina), was carried out an educational experience where the construction of a methodological proposal for the teaching of history was combined with literacy process, following the guidelines of the methodology of popular education. This article, describe and reflect on various aspects of the experience. First we describe the socioeconomic and political conditions of the target population, then focus on the educational activities developed by the area of History and Social Sciences. The analysis of the scopes and limitations of the project, leads us to assert that the objective of promoting appreciation of knowledge and reflection of the subject himself (individual and collective) was partially succeeded.
