Sumario:The gabbro-peridotite complex of Bosque Alegre crops out in a NNW-SSE trending belt 2 km long and 0.8 km wide, located 20 km SE of Villa Carlos Paz, Cordoba, Argentina. It was emplaced concordantly with rocks of the Precambrian crystalline basement which are dominantly of amphibolite facies. The ultramafic-mafic rocks formed a folded differentiated igneous complex with peridotites at the base followed by pyroxenites, hornblendites and gabbros at the top. They are intensely serpentinized and uralitized and probably represent part of the roof zone of an old island arc and/or back arc system. Folding was syntectonic with the regional metamorphism and occurred during four tectonic phases accompanied by intense serpentinization of the ultramafic rocks and amphibolitization of the gabbroic rocks. -English summary
