| Sumario: | We discuss the infrared reflectivity of strontium rutenate, SrRuO3, measured from 40 cm-1 to 10000 cm-1. The relative high reflectance at low frequencies and the semimetallic behavior at values between 300 cm-1 and 1900 cm-1 found in this compound is in accordance with a system with relatively free carriers. Two weak absorptions at about 450 cm-1 and 800 cm-1 are assigned to the interaction between electrons and longitudinal phonons . The reflectivity decays rather sharply up to about 3900 cm-1 and then decreases asymptotically at higher energies. From Kramers-Kronig and multioscillator analyses we obtain the effective carrier number N* = 7.07 1018 cm-3, the effective mobility μ* = 142.6 cm2V-1sec-1 and the optical conductivity σo = 175.6 Ω-1cm-1. |
