Sumario:The results of an analysis of the remanent magnetism of samples from the Quinelaf and Somuncura formations of the Somuncura Volcanic Complex (Rio Negro Province) are presented. The stable remanent magnetism polarities and the radiometric ages of the units studied, allow a series of possible correlations with the polarity reversal chart for the late Oligocene. The results from the Somuncura Formation also suggest that the pole positions of the Earth's magnetic field during polarity transitions are distributed along preferential areas, at least from the Oligocene onwards. -English summary
