Nota de contenido:
El CD ROM contiene los archivos de datos relativos a los ejemplos y ejercicios resueltos.; Hazard City has a simple navigation system that is always visible on your monitor. On the top navigation bar, "Walkthrough" provides a four-minute animation that orients you to Hazard City and your problem-solving assignments; "Glossary" can be used as an electronic dictionary to look up geological terms; this "Help" document gives you important instructions for completing your work. You can return to the Hazard City homepage by clicking the "Home" button. The homepage also has a small photo and a title for each geological topic that is important to Hazard City. When you click on one of the photos you will be taken to the version menu for that assignment. When you arrive at this page, select the version of the "assignment" required by your instructor. When you click on your required assignment, you will see two navigation bars, one at the top of the screen and another at the bottom. These will always be visible while you work on the assignment. The top navigation bar has links to the "Walkthrough," the "Glossary," this "Help" document and the Hazard City homepage. For solving the assignments, the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen will be your primary tool. Two buttons that are present in every assignment are: "Instructions" and "Report." The "Instructions" page explains your assignment and the "Report" page summarizes what you need to do to submit completed work. The remaining buttons connect you to maps, graphs and other information essential for solving your assignment. Explore this information thoroughly. Exploration, thought, learning on your own and application are the keys to solving your assignments. You must be willing to do all of these to be successful in your work. Finally, we have archived some selected websites that are excellent information sources for solving these assignments. You will be able to easily recognize them when they open in a new browser window. Although these are stored on the CD we have built a link to them that you can optionally use if you are working at an internet-connected computer. Optional links to additional internet-based materials have been provided in several of the assignments. We have done our best to make the navigation simple so that you can focus upon your work.
